# Configure Reward Rules

> [!NOTE]
> Mandatory fields for Reward Rules
>
> For each reward rule, you must specify the following mandatory fields:
>
> - Event Trigger: The event that triggers the reward.
> - Rewards: The reward your users get for triggering the rule.
> - Name: The internal name of the reward rule

To create a reward rule, go to **Ways to Earn** > **Reward Rules** > **Create**. The sections below describe how to configure a reward rule.

## Specify Reward Rule Trigger

- **Event Trigger**: Specify the event a user must trigger to receive the reward.
- **Additional Event Conditions**: If required, you can further refine the event trigger using specific event properties. For example, you can set a trigger for a *deposit* event where the *amount* property is greater than 10.

## Specify Time and User Restrictions

Under **Restrictions**, you can define the duration of the rule and which users are eligible to participate.

- **Time Constraints**: Specify when the rule is active and visible to your users. You can select a specific day, a date range, or a combination of both. You can also add multiple time constraints.
- **User Requirements**: Specify the user segment that can view or claim the reward. You can choose a predefined segment from the **Segments** tab or create user restictions using user attributes.

## Specify the Reward

Under **Rewards**, specify one or more rewards that the user receives when they trigger the reward rule. See [Loyalty Reward Types](/documentation/docs/loyalty-reward-types) for more information on the different reward types and how to configure them.

## Manage Reward Rule Visibility

In the **Overview** section, define the internal name and decide if the rule is visible to your audience.

- **Name**: This is the internal name of the reward rule
- **Show to User**: Check this box if you want the reward rule to be visible to your users. You must then provide a Public Description (for example, *Make a deposit of 50 or more to earn 20 tokens*) and a Public Icon.
