# Create a Game Campaign

Create a game campaign in Xtremepush Games Hub

### Roles and Permissions

Users with the following permissions can create game campaigns: **Company Admin**, **Campaign Admin**, **Project Admin**, and **Campaign Data Manager**.

### Steps for Campaign Creation

The first step in creating your game is creating a game campaign. A campaign acts as the container for your game, allowing you to define crucial aspects like target audiences, campaign duration and more. It also contains your game’s design, text, and prize configurations.

Each campaign can only have one game associated with it.

To create a new game campaign:

1. Go to the **Games Hub** tab in Xtremepush and select your game.
2. Choose the region where the game data will be stored.
3. In the **Campaigns** tab, click **Create Campaign** and enter the following mandatory details:

> [!NOTE]
> Understanding play limits
>
> - **Per day**: Set the maximum number of times a player can play the game per day. The start and end times for this day depend on the following:
> - The campaign **timezone**
> - The daily game availability configured in the **Time Slots** tab after creating the campaign. For example, if the **per day** limit is set to `1` for a campaign in the Dublin **timezone** with a daily time slot of `00:00` to `23:59`, players can only play once per day between `00:00` on and `23:59` in the Dublin timezone . See [Configure Time Slots](/documentation/docs/manage-time-slots-optional) for more information on managing daily time slots for your game.
> - **Per week**: Set the maximum number of times a player can play the game per week. The start and end times for this week depend on the following:
> - The campaign **timezone**
> - The daily game availability configured in the **Time Slots** tab after creating the campaign.
> - The date specified in the campaign **Starts At** field. For example, if the **per week** limit is set to `2` for campaign starting on 20 January in the Dublin **timezone** with a daily time slot of `09:00` and `21:00 `. In this campaign, players can play twice between `09:00` on 20 January and `21:00` on 27 January in the Dublin time zone.
> - **Per campaign**: Set the maximum number of times a player can play the game per campaign. This limit is determined by the campaign **Starts At** and **Ends At** date and the **timezone**.
  - **Name**: Give your campaign a unique and descriptive name. This name will be included in your game’s custom link (slug) e.g. `https://wheels.games.domain.com/play/unique-and-descriptive-name`
  - **Template**: Some games, such as Wheels, have different templates you can choose from. The game assets and design differ for each template.
  - **Timezone**: Select the timezone of your target audience. This timezone will apply to all campaign elements such as prizes and time slots.
  - **Starts At** and **Ends At**: Define the period during which your campaign will be active.
  - **Games Allowed**: Set the maximum number of times a player can play the game per day, per week, or for the entire campaign duration.
4. Configure the optional fields of your game campaign:

> [!NOTE]
> Default Segments
>
> In the **Default Segment** field, select one of your previously created user segments. Any participant who does not belong to another segment in your campaign will be treated as part of this default group. They will receive the prize that you configure for this segment.
>
> For example, if you have two user segments *VIP* and *New User* and you intend to give the *New User* segment the lowest-value prize. Then, if you choose *New User* as the default segment, then any player not in *VIP* and *New User* segments can:
>
> - Participate in the game
> - Be awarded the same lowest-value prize as the New User segment
  - **Externally Configured Play Limits**: Turn on this toggle if your game’s eligibility is managed outside of Xtremepush Games Hub.
  - **Default Segment**: Set a default segment to ensure any user who doesn’t match your pre-defined segments can still play the game and receive a prize.
  - **Excludes Segment**: If required, select a segment that you want to exclude from participating in the game such as bonus abusers.
5. Click **Save** You can find your new campaign in the **Campaigns** tab. A test link for your game is also generated, which you can view in the header area of the campaign page. The test link can only be viewed after your campaign start date.
