# View a user profile

A single view of associated data, subscription, devices, message history and more for specific users

To view or edit a single User Profile, navigate to **Data > Users > Profiles**. This page displays a list of all User Profiles within a project.

Search for the User Profile using the search fields at the top of the table. The table header's **Settings** menu can be used to display extra columns to search. For example to search by email address, make sure the **Email** column is displayed, and enter the whole or part of the desired address in the search field.

> [!NOTE]
> To search by *Profile ID* or *User ID*, the whole value must be entered.

Click the link in the **Profile ID** column to open the User Profile page of the record you wish to view.

The User Profile page is separated into various tabs, and the **Action** button can be used to [download all user profile data](/documentation/docs/user-profile-download) or [delete a user profile](/documentation/docs/user-profile-delete-data).

## Overview

The **Overview** tab shows a summary of data and activity for a User Profile and any Device Profiles associated with it.

The **Featured Attributes** section allows you to display and group your own important attributes into named *data sections*. Click the **Select Attributes** button to open a dialog where you can create and add existing profile attributes to your data sections.

> [!TIP]
> Featured Attributes which you configure will be shown on all user profiles in the project, and they will be visible for all users with access to the project.

If you have a mobile app configured for the project, a **Latest Mobile App Sessions** section will be shown. Similar to the overview for an individual [device profile](/documentation/docs/device-profile), the mobile app icon will be shown if its *bundle ID* and *store URL* are configured in **Settings > Apps & Sites >** click on the matching app **> Settings. See instructions for setting these values in the guides for [Android](/documentation/docs/android-integration), and [iOS](/documentation/docs/ios-integration).

## Data

System attributes are shown in the **Basic Data** section of the **Data** tab for a User Profile. These can be edited by clicking the **Edit Data** button, allowing you to edit the attribute values in place, and then click the **Save** button to store the changes.

The **Attributes** section shows the values of any custom [Profile Attributes](/documentation/docs/attributes-tags) associated to the User Profile. Existing attributes can be edited or removed from the User Profile by clicking the icons on the respective Attribute row. New Attributes can be assigned to the User Profile by clicking the **Assign Attribute** button.

> [!NOTE]
> To be able to store Attribute values against a User Profile, the Attribute must first be created in [**Data > Data Manager > Attributes & Tags**](/documentation/docs/attributes-tags) as a *Profile Attribute*.

## Channels

Addressability and subscription to marketing channels for the User Profile is shown in the **Channels** tab. This is separated into channels relating directly to the User Profile (for example, email and SMS), and those available through a Device Profile for a mobile app or website.

Addressability is a system field and cannot be edited. For the email channel, email addressability is set when the email address is updated, if the email address looks to be the correct format. This might be set unaddressable for both email and SMS if messages bounce. For Device profiles, addressability shows if the notification permission has been accepted by the user on their device.

Subscription to push channels is typically controlled through the [SDK implementation](/documentation/docs/push-subscription), but can be toggled on or off manually by using the **Options** menu next to the device in question.

For profile-based channels (email, SMS), subscription can also be toggled manually in the same way and can also be set when [importing user profiles](/documentation/docs/user-profile-create).

## Devices

Projects with connected mobile apps or websites can see a list of Device Profiles associated with the User Profile from the **Devices** tab. Click a Device item to navigate to its [Device Profile](/documentation/docs/device-profile) page.

## Messages

The **Messages** tab displays a list of campaign messages sent to the User Profile. The table can be filtered by using the search fields at the top of the table. The table header's **Settings** icon can be used to display extra columns.

Click the campaign name to navigate to the associated campaign. To directly navigate to the [Notifications log detail page](/documentation/docs/notifications-log#notification-details-page) click on the **Options ( : ) > Details**. This page allows getting more information on the campaign for this specific user, such as personalisation params or error messages if any.

## Tags

Review this tab to see the list of tags that have been set against devices associated with this user profile. The table can be filtered by using the search fields at the top of the table. If you have set a [metric](/documentation/docs/metrics) against a device, the information will also be shown here (name of the metric and its associated value).

The example above shows a tag hit that has a metric associated to it (it measures the number of air miles collected). Only the latest 50 records are shown.

## Events

The **Events** tab displays the list of events that have been fired by this user profile.

Events can be hit from the web and mobile SDKs (from the device through which the user visits the website or app) and via the [API](reference:event-hit-event). Events fired from the SDKs will show the device ID that fired the event in the Device ID column, and events fired from the API won't show any device ID, as they are not related to devices. Only the latest 50 events fired are displayed.

## Sessions

This tab displays the sessions for the web and mobile devices connected to this user profile. The table can be filtered by using the search fields at the top of the table. Only the latest 50 sessions are shown. Users with admin access can view this tab.

## Locations

The **Locations** tab displays a heatmap to show the User Profile's most-visited and last-seen locations.

Below you'll find a table with the activity related to the locations configured in your project. The table header's **Settings** icon can be used to display extra columns. Click the Device ID to navigate to the associated Device Profile. Only the latest 50 records are shown.

> [!TIP]
> As with all geo-location activity, Xtremepush only records the activity against pre-defined locations set up for the project in **Data > Data Manager > Locations** and does not track all user location activity. This information is only collected on the mobile SDKs, provided that [location services](/documentation/docs/behavioural-data#location-data) have been integrated.
