It plans its own steps and adapts as it goes. This suits work you know the ultimate goal but don't know which agents are required or the exact steps they should take to get there. ## Flows or Crews? Whether you reach for a Flow or a Crew depends on how repeatable the task is and how much of the process you want to define yourself. | | Xpert Flows | Xpert Crews | | --- | --- | --- | | **Nature** | Pre-configured, step-by-step | An autonomous team working to a brief | | **Trigger** | Scheduled, triggered, or run on command | Assigned a brief; can be recurring | | **Control** | You define each node and any approval gates | The Team Leader delegates; you check in and approve where flagged | | **Typical use** | Repeatable operational tasks you do every week the same way | Bigger, less-defined projects you do not have team time for | A useful way to decide between a Flow and a Crew: if the work follows a fixed pattern you already do the same way each time, build a Flow. If you would rather hand over an objective and its success criteria than dictate every step, build a Crew. ## How a Crew is set up | | What it does | | --- | --- | | **Org Chart** | Defines the team: which Xperts are in it, and how they report to and collaborate with each other. | | **Brief** | The objective you hand the team, along with any schedule and approval settings. | | **Control Room** | Where you watch the Crew work in real time. | ## What's next See [Understanding Xpert Crews](/documentation/docs/understanding-xpert-crews) to build your first Org Chart, [Creating and running briefs](/documentation/docs/creating-and-running-briefs) to give it an objective, and [Monitoring the Control Room](/documentation/docs/monitoring-the-control-room) to follow it while it works.
