Without them, clicking an image in Media opens a panel with its details, where you can edit or delete it. To have asset pages switched on for your account, speak to your account manager. With asset pages switched on, each image in Media opens on its own page. From it, you can replace the image without changing content that already uses it, check how it looks at each channel's size, and see what depends on it before you change or archive it. For uploading, organising, and archiving images, see [Populating your Media library](/documentation/docs/populating-your-asset-library). ## Open an asset page 1. Click **Content** in the sidebar, then **Media**. 2. Click an image. The page shows the image's title, brands, category, and tags, and a preview of the current version with its dimensions, format, file size, aspect ratio, and orientation. From the header you can edit the details, upload a new version, and archive or restore the image. The page has three tabs: **Versions**, **Renditions**, and **Where used**. ## Versions When you upload a new version of an image, Media keeps every earlier version and its file. Content that already uses the image keeps the version it was built with until someone updates it. Replacing an image therefore never changes a message that has been approved or sent. ### Upload a new version 1. On the asset page, click **Upload new version**. 2. Choose how to add the image: - **File**: drop an image onto the upload area, or click it to browse. - **Image URL**: enter the address of an image hosted elsewhere. 3. Optionally, add a **Change note** that says what changed, for example *Brighter background*. 4. Click **Upload version**. The new file becomes the current version. You can upload PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP, and SVG files up to 10 MB. ### Return to an earlier version The **Versions** tab lists every version with its thumbnail, file size, change note, and date, and whether you or a team member uploaded it. The current version is marked **Current**. 1. Open the **Versions** tab. 2. Click **Make current** on the version you want. Making a version current does not create or delete anything. If other content still uses a different version, the page tells you how many pieces of content use it, so you can update them from each ticket. ## Renditions A rendition is a copy of an image cropped and resized for one channel's image slot, for example a 2:1 push picture. Media makes renditions for you, so you do not need to resize an image by hand for each channel. The size for each rendition is shown in its card. The original file does not change. ### View renditions Open the **Renditions** tab to see the image at each size. Each tile shows the rendition's dimensions and file size, and **Copy URL** copies its link. A tile can also show one of these badges: | Badge | What it means | | --- | --- | | **Upscaled** | The image is smaller than this size, so Media enlarged it. It may look soft. Use a larger image if you can. | | **Failed** | Media could not make this size. The tile gives the reason, for example that the image cannot be made small enough for the channel's file size limit. | | **Still rendering** | Media is still making this size. Click **Try again** to check again. | Select **Show safe zones** to shade where important content, such as text and logos, should sit in each size. Images with transparency, such as logos, keep their transparency. Renditions of an animated GIF use its first frame, unless the GIF already fits the size. > [!WARNING] > Renditions support for SVG > > Media does not make renditions of SVG files. ### Set the focal point Media crops each rendition around the image's focal point, which starts at the centre. Move it to keep the important part of the image, such as a face or a product, in every crop. 1. On the asset page, click the part of the preview you want to keep. A crosshair marks the new focal point. Click **Save focal point** to keep your change. 2. Check the rendition tiles, which update to the new crop. Content that already uses a rendition keeps its old crop until it is updated, and old rendition links keep working. ## See where an image is used The **Where used** tab lists the content items, tickets, campaigns, and image templates that use the image, each with its status and a link. A summary at the top shows how many live campaigns and open tickets use it. Check this tab before you replace or archive an image. If you archive an image that is in use, the asset page lists what is stopping the archive. See [When an image cannot be archived](/documentation/docs/populating-your-asset-library#when-an-image-cannot-be-archived). ## Choose an image size in content When you pick an image for a push, in-app, or web push image field, the Media picker shows how well it fits that slot. These badges show on every account: | Badge | What it means | | --- | --- | | **fits** | The image matches one of the slot's channel sizes. | | **upscaled** | The image is smaller than the slot's size and will be enlarged, so it may look soft. | | **aspect differs** | The image's shape does not match any of the slot's sizes, so it will be cropped. | | **over limit** | The file is larger than the channel allows. The content check blocks approval until you use a smaller image. | With asset pages switched on, the picker also has a size step: 1. Select an image. The picker first shows images of the slot's shape; choose **Any shape** to see them all. 2. Choose a size. The slot's usual size, for example **Push picture 2:1**, is selected for you. Choose **Original** to use the source file as it is. 3. Check the preview and the fit badges, which name the size they apply to. Select **Show safe zone** to see where content should sit. 4. Click **Use this image**. The image field then shows the version and size you chose, for example *v2 ยท Push 2:1*. If a size failed or is still rendering, the picker shows the reason and does not add the image. Content items also run an **Images fit their channel** check. An image over its channel's file size limit blocks approval, and a size or aspect ratio that does not suit the channel gives a warning. See [Campaign Content](/documentation/docs/campaign-content). ### When a newer version is available Any content using an image keeps the image version it was built with unless a user manually accepts an update. When a new image version becomes available the content item or ticket shows **New image version available** with the version number. Click **Use latest image** to switch to the same size of the newest version. The content then becomes a draft version and will require approval before becoming the new published version.
