Overview of levels and a comparison of different level types

Levels allow you to categorise your users into different tiers based on user attributes. These tiers provide a structured progression system that allows you to reward users as they increase their interaction with your website or app.

Some examples of levels include the following:

  • A tiered status system such as Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

  • Activity-based ranks like Rookie, Pro, and All-Star.

Levels Overview

Levels represent a user's standing within your loyalty program. Unlike reward rules or quests which focus on specific actions, levels provide a permanent or dynamic user status. Users move across these levels based on changes to specific user attribute values.

For example, a user might reach a higher level after they earn a specific number of lifetime tokens or complete a certain number of quests.

There are three types of levels you can configure.

  • Manual: Users must choose to move to the next level. A Level Up button appears next to the level progress bar, and the user must pay a token fee to progress. Once a user moves to a higher level, they cannot return to a lower level.

  • Automatic one way: Users automatically move to higher levels as they meet the level requirements. Once a user moves to a higher level, they cannot return to a lower level, even if they no longer meet the level requirements.

  • Automatic: Users move up and down between levels automatically based on their current user attribute values.

The following table compares the different level types.
