A Crew is a named team of Xperts and the relationships between them, defined in an Org Chart. For when to use a Crew see Xpert Crews overview.
Build the org chart
Go to Crews > Org Chart.
Select an existing organisation from the selector at the top, or click New Organisation to start one.
Click Manage Agents to add Xperts to the organisation.
In Organisation Structure, drag agents from the Available Agents list into the tree, and connect them to define reporting and collaboration relationships.
Relationship types
Relationship | What it does |
|---|---|
Reporting relationship | The Xpert escalates to, and takes direction from, the Xpert above it in the hierarchy. |
Collaboration | A peer relationship used for input and feedback, shown as a dashed line in the org chart. |
You can create multiple organisations for different purposes, for example you might have one for marketing operations and another for financial services. Use the selector at the top of Org Chart, Briefs, or Control Room to switch between them, each has its own team and Brief history.
How the org chart affects a Crew
Task delegation - the Leader can only delegate to its direct reports
Escalation - Xperts escalate issues to their manager
Validation routing - quality review requests follow the hierarchy
Control Room visibility - Xperts appear based on organisation membership
Start simple
Begin with a flat structure: one Leader and a small number of specialists reporting to it. Add layers only once you understand how the team works together.
What's next
Once your Crew's org chart is in place, see Creating and running briefs to assign it its first objective, and Monitoring the Control Room to follow its progress.
