Voucher codes
Add a list of unique voucher codes to a campaign message to be sent to individual recipients at send time.
This feature allows the marketer to take a single list of voucher codes and upload them to a campaign so that they can be matched one-to-one with user profiles targeted in a campaign. This lets you send special one-time, individual-use offers to a selected audience.
Can't see this feature?
This feature is not enabled by default and requires enabling on a project by project basis. If you would like to use this feature, please contact us.
Xtremepush can show these alphanumeric codes as styled text or convert them to several different barcode formats.
Voucher codes limitations
Voucher codes are only available on scheduled campaigns (not on triggered campaigns). This feature is not available on the Webhooks channel.
Set up the campaign
To use this feature, you first need to generate your list of unique codes before creating the campaign. This is usually done with the platform that the user will be claiming the codes against. For example your bonus engine, or epos system.
The list should be a single-column CSV file and each row should contain a single, unique, value.
With the list ready, create or open the campaign you wish to apply the codes to and find the Voucher codes section in the Setup tab. Check the Voucher codes box to use them on this campaign.
Using the Upload voucher codes button, upload the CSV containing the codes and it will be saved against this campaign.
Add voucher codes to message content
Once you have uploaded the list, switch to the Content tab and against each channel you can decide whether to include the code and which format to show it in.
Email
To include the code in an email campaign, open the builder and drag the Voucher Code content block into the body of the message.

There are a number of options available for the code format depending on how and where you expect the code to be redeemed by the recipient.
Opening the configuration for this code is done by clicking the Style Voucher Code button to show a modal which allows to display the barcode in different formats.

If text is selected then styling options for style, colour, size, etc will show up.
It is possible to add the voucher code block to the email more than once and in different formats. For example, it is possible to add a a barcode as well as the plain text version in case manual entry is required to redeem the code.

Other channels
For all other channels, it is only possible to insert a text version of the code and to position the code at the Top or the Bottom of the rest of the content. The preview for each of the channels will update to show how the message will look like.

Sending rules
At the point of sending each user profile targeted in the campaign is assigned a separate code from the uploaded list.
If a single profile receives multiple message types from the campaign (eg: email and SMS) then the same code will be applied to both channels so the profile receives the same code in both messages instead of getting assigned two different codes.
If the campaign is a recurring campaign and the same profile is eligible to receive it more than once, the first code they receive will be remembered against their profile and any subsequent sends will use the same code again.
When the amount of codes runs out then the campaign will stop sending so that users don't receive a message without a code. An error will be shown in the Notifications Log to show the send failed due to no more codes being available. It is possible to upload more codes in order to continue sending but you should be careful to add the new codes to the original file instead of uploading a completely new file; otherwise a returning user that is sent the same message again will see a new code the next time they are sent a message.
In multi-stage journeys, the code is mapped to the user at the point of entry to the journey, so every message they are sent within that journey will be the same one.
Review which voucher was sent to user profiles
For each voucher code a profile receives you can check when they received it, and from which campaign it came from by going to Data > User profiles > look for the user profile > Voucher codes.
